Children & Teen Therapy

Children and teens experience emotions they don't always have the words to express. Anxiety can look like frustration, sadness can show up as withdrawal, and difficult behavior can sometimes be a way of communicating an unmet need.

With over 20 years of experience working closely with children and families, I bring a developmentally informed, compassionate approach to helping young people better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and build emotional confidence.

Therapy offers a supportive space to explore challenges such as:

  • Anxiety, worry, and perfectionism

  • Emotional regulation and anger

  • Friendship difficulties and bullying

  • Self-esteem and identity

  • School stress and life transitions

  • Family conflict and communication

  • OCD and intrusive thoughts

Supporting Parents & Families

When a child is struggling, parents often find themselves wondering what to do, what to say, or how to help without making things harder.

Therapy isn't about identifying what's wrong with a child or who's to blame. It's about understanding the patterns, emotions, and relationships influencing their experiences.

I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers when appropriate, helping families strengthen communication, respond to emotional needs, and create an environment where children feel supported and understood.

A Space to Grow

Children and teens don't need to have everything figured out. They need opportunities to feel heard, explore their experiences, and develop the skills to navigate a changing world.

Change begins with understanding, not judgment.
